1:200 drainage plan

Its not quite finished but thought i would but it up , as there has been a mad rush of work going up - well done every one its all looking great!! only 30 days to go !!! Gulp!!   oops just realized my title block is wrong!! oops! will reload tomo-

1: 50 detail area in Auto CAD

Here you can see how i have tackled the edge of the cascade that runs alongside a sloping path- this plan only shows the hard landscaping. I am now building this area in sketch up in order to show my intension's with 3D perspectives.

The revised design strengthens the concept - The Source , the waters movements and behavior- the cut and rough stone represent the rushing crashing water gradually becoming smooth  and then reflective.

The original from the 1:200 plan

easter progress - 1:200 structural planting plan

1:200 structural planting plan
Generated in AutoCAD, from this same base plan i have also done my hardworks plan , lighting plan and drainage plan.

easter progress - 1:200 refinement plan

1:200 refinement plan - i have test rendered a section of a plan and am very happy with the style, here is a print out with everything except the people and spot heights dulled down ready for me to render on top- i will post the finished plan once i have finished rendering it- its today's job!

easter progress - 1:100 sections

Over the Easter i have been sticking to my timetable as much as possible, i set myself realistic time scales to the way i work.

Yesterday i printed off my test photoshop rendered sections without the annotation on it just to see what it looked like- here they are- unfortunately they do not look as nice printed as they do on a screen- the back ground and many of the trees and the sky just do not work. I'm not sure why i have made them so fussy and gone so far back! There are some areas of them that i do like yet there are too many things about them that i do not! anyway i need to move on to today's work and come back to these another day.

work, rest and play at dixter ,,,,

In need of a break from all this work - i thought the best thing for me would be to spend some time with the guys at dixter, get my hands dirty , plenty of fresh air and great company -i hadnt slept this well for months!!! -  its was just what the doctor ordered!
I recommend everyone to just take a few days break if you feel you are going slightly mental.  The break away from it helps you think and process all your thoughts about it clearly.
Here are some of the pics i took whilst i was working and resting!!!

i did do some work - honest!!! for 2 days i was in the vegetable garden with Aaron, Lewis and little Conifer ( the daxon! ) Here she is sunbathing whilst we work!

In 2 days we put in 11 varieties of potato!!
  • Picasso
  • Maris Peer
  • Bonnie
  • Pentland crown
  • Edgecote purple
  • Duke of York
  • Gladstone
  • Salad blue
  • Edzell blue
  • Sharpres Express
  • Pentland Crown

i miss monday crits!!!

i thought - right ok adele, you know what you need to do , so just get on and do it- so i am following my geeky timetable (and have stuck to it so far!!) but i do miss the extra pressure that the monday crits bring!
As long as i stick to the timetable i should be fine- i just hope i dont spend too long on any one element-
im very pleased that i cracked the AUTOCAD ! done my 1:200 plan, from this i can use the planting plan, hard works layout, drainage and setting out plan too- hopefully that will be enough to tick the AutoCAD box !!!??!!!

moving on ,,,,,,,

Colour concept planting - Sissinghurst Inspiration

Colour concept planting-
The planting colours range from the silvers and whites through to the blues and purples to represent the journey of the water- from crashing over the rocks in the cascade to the deeper, calm of the large pond.

Sissighurst`s White Garden
It is really important to realise why all the different forms of white work in this space, it is all due to the permanent structure, from the evergreen boundaries to the central pergola that supports the rambling rose.
I took these pictures last August, the garden was still looking magical.

From above you can really see and appriciate the permanent structure
and its importance within the space,
